AAA Travel Agents Share Their African Travel Adventure
To say that my recent trip to South Africa was the
trip of a lifetime would be a massive understatement. Traveling to this place always seemed like a pipe dream to me, but last October I was extended the invitation to venture there with AAA and our partner African Travel. What a beautiful land, people and culture!
We started our journey by visiting the coastal area of Cape Town, surrounded by the majestic Table Mountain and the coastline stretching out to the Atlantic and Indian oceans. We were met by our incredible guide for touring the sights and areas all over the city.
If you plan to go, allow me to offer a few recommendations:
• Take a city tour. There is so much to see in Cape
Town. Even if it is a half-day tour, you can visit so many of the sights like Signal Hill, see areas where Mandela spoke or the colorful village of Bo-Kapp. If you are feeling adventurous, take the cable car up to the top of Table Mountain to see the city below.
• Visit The Winelands. There is no lack of beautiful, world-class vineyards within an hour’s drive of
the city center. A master tasting with one of the knowledgeable sommeliers is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.
• Walk along Boulder Beach. If you love wildlife, you cannot miss a visit to the wild African Penguin colony.
• Stop at Cape Point (Cape of Good Hope), the southernmost point of South Africa, where the two oceans meet. It’s a quick and easy hike up to the
top of the lighthouse for panoramic ocean views and
the surrounding mountain ranges.
• Just a quick flight from Cape Town to Hoedspruit, you
are transported to the edges of the Kruger National Park. This was one of the most incredible parts of the trip.
The Kapama Lodge was not only beautiful but included luxurious accommodations and world-class dining and service. The lodge is so close to the park that you will see wildlife as you relax by the pool or walk the grounds.

Having now experienced African Travel firsthand,
I can say that I would feel 100% confident that any client we send on a trip with them will have a life-changing experience. They made every step of our journey worry-free and seamless – the level of coordination between all involved in this trip was amazing. The accommodations were absolutely world-class and the people that worked at them even better. The game drives that we went on while staying at the Kapama River Lodge were the highlight of the trip for me. We saw up close and personal lions, elephants, rhinos and hyenas on just the first day. To see these magnificent, endangered animals in the wild was an experience
I will hold dear for the rest of my life. I highly encourage anyone dreaming about taking a trip like this to allow us to book you on an African Travel journey. Truly it will be the trip of a lifetime!
