 NEW YORK,
NEW YORK If You Can Make It Here ...
Whether you grew up in the country or in the city, New York City’s beehive of activity and sheer size will always have a jaw-dropping effect. As one of the craziest, most exciting, beautiful cities on the planet, the Big Apple has everything you’ve dreamt of and more.
According to tourists and locals, fall and winter are the best seasons to visit New York City.
A Festival of Colors and Fall Breezes
In the fall, you can expect mild temperatures to dominate from September until November. Early fall offers crisp breezes and bright, golden sunlight peeking through the trees and cityscapes. The fall foliage in NYC is picturesque, and – living up to its “The City That Never Sleeps” nickname – there are hundreds of events and fall festivals to choose from city-wide during this time.
Most New Yorkers will tell you that September is the most pleasant month of them all, with sunny skies and low heat and humidity. September’s highs range from the low 80s at the beginning of the month to the low 70s toward the end. Visit outdoor tourist spots while the weather is comfortable, such as the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, 9/11 Memorial, Chinatown, Times Square, Fifth Avenue and more. Take a scenic walk around Central Park or attend a show in the theater district at night. Your options are endless.
Season’s Greetings from the Big Apple
Winter in NYC is full of festivities and holiday spirit. The Empire State provides postcard-picture views and an unrivaled winter experience – and, if you want the best of the holidays, most recommend visiting in mid- to late November and December. If you’re there for Thanksgiving, you may want to witness the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in person.
NYC neighborhoods will be festooned with twinkling lights, glitter and other holiday decorations. Plenty of exciting venues are built around the holidays, one of them being the iconic production of The Nutcracker ballet. Also, nature lovers can warm up with the beautiful butterflies

on exhibit inside the American Museum of Natural History or put on layers and walk around the beautiful displays outside in the city’s Botanical Gardens. December is the perfect time to see the Christmas Spectacular starring the Radio City Rockettes and the iconic symbol that is the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.
Explore on Your Own
Lastly, sometimes it’s best to just wander. Save some time on your itinerary to just explore and see where the day takes you. Ride the subway, find a unique coffee shop, look at street art and people watch. Try visiting the city’s five boroughs – Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island – outside of the big tourist attractions. You’ll never know what you’ll discover on the bustling streets of the Big Apple.
