Take the Shock Out of Battery Shopping
Have you noticed your vehicle headlights are a little dimmer or your car is slow to start? If your vehicle battery is more than
3 years old – and especially
if you also have noticed these signs – you might want to prepare to replace it by planning ahead.
AAA can help you plan
your replacement purchase with
an online instant quote. You only need to know four things about your vehicle:
• Make
• Model
• Year
• Engine (configuration and cylinders).
Just go to AAA.com/battery and enter your
vehicle information in the quoter. You’ll see the discounted AAA member price along with the regular, non-member price.
In addition to exclusive savings, members will benefit from a 72-month nationwide limited warranty on your battery, including a 36-month free replacement warranty. The testing, installation and recycling of your old vehicle battery are included in the cost.
AAA Car Care Plus facilities also offer member pricing on AAA batteries, making it convenient to replace an older battery the next time you bring your car in for a routine service or repair.
Sometimes batteries die unexpectedly, leaving you stranded. If this happens to you, place a road service call to AAA and request battery service. You’ll be confident in the knowledge that you’ll get a quality battery at a great member price, along with the convenience of having the battery delivered and installed on the spot.
The bottom line? Whether you can plan ahead or get stuck somewhere with a dead battery, you can still make a smart shopping decision by choosing AAA for an instant quote and battery installation.
Five Quick Tips to Prepare Your Car for Winter
Winter weather is just around the corner, so be sure your car is ready for the driving challenges ahead. Take your car into a AAA Car Care Plus or Approved Auto Repair location for these checks,
or, if you are handy, do them yourself.
Tend to your tires –
Inspect your tires to make sure they are in good shape and can keep a firm grip on the road. Check for adequate tread depth, look for defects and damage and inflate tire pressure to proper levels.
Ensure your battery is “current” –
A battery test can alert you to potential issues so you have the opportunity to replace your battery before it fails.
Have your battery tested if it is 3 or
more years old.
Keep your engine cozy –
In addition to checking and topping
off coolant levels, you’ll need to be sure your antifreeze is still clean and providing adequate protection for your climate.
Winterize your wipers –
Replace your wiper blades to ensure the best possible visibility in adverse weather conditions. Fill your windshield fluid reservoir with winter-rated cleaning fluid.
Prepare an emergency kit –
Outfit a box or plastic container for your car with supplies in case you
get stranded out in the cold. Include gloves, an extra ice scraper, road flares, blankets, sand or kitty litter, first-aid supplies and snacks like energy bars, nuts or jerky.
