columbuscityadventures.com
Author and former television news anchor Anietra Hamper and Columbus City Adventures announced a special collaboration with a series of bus tours highlighting a side of Columbus revealed in the new book, “Secret Columbus: A Guide to the Weird, Wonderful, and Obscure,” that most people have never seen or even knew existed.
The two- to three-hour tours are offered twice each month through the summer at 6:30 p.m. with alternating topics
and a special spooky-themed series in October. Tour stops range from hidden relics of the Old Ohio Penitentiary
and an abandoned pet cemetery, to remnants of segregated socializing. Tours include private access to some of the spots revealed in the book.
“Secret Columbus” is a journey of awe-inspiring moments combined with exciting knowledge about places in Ohio’s capital city designed for readers to find and experience. The investigative approach to uncovering the hidden and fascinating foundation of the city reveals quirky facts like what trash-eating pigs have to do with the modern-day landfill, a grave of specimens from an insane asylum, secrets from the basement of the Circus House, penitentiary cell doors hidden in plain sight and much more.
