at the “Lobster Capital of the World,” Rockland, Maine, where you can view landscape paintings made famous by Andrew Wyeth at the Farnsworth Art Museum.
From Rockland, you are aiming for Bar Harbor, home to Acadia National Park, the first national park east of the Mississippi River. During certain times of the year, the park runs a free shuttle service to see the vast attractions without the hassles of parking. After all
the driving you have been doing, it might be time for a break. Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on the eastern seaboard north of Brazil, is a perfect spot for sunrises, sunsets and stargazing.
Get your passport ready because as you continue traveling north, where a striking red-and-white striped lighthouse marks the easternmost point in the United States, you are nearing Canada. A short drive takes you across the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial International Bridge to Canada’s Campobello Island, a favorite destination for the U.S.’s 32nd President. You will head back into the U.S. as you drive along the Bay of Fundy but will cross the international border again before reaching your destination for the night – St. Andrews-By-The-Sea, New Brunswick, Canada’s oldest seaside resort town.
After spending some time in St. Andrews, it’s time to hit the road again, this time heading south, back to Boston. You’ll pass through the “Chocolate Capital of Canada,” St. Stephen, New Brunswick. Then, follow

“the Airline” to Bangor, Maine. The route is one of the most scenic through Maine’s inland timberland country. A 31-foot-tall statue of lumberjack Paul Bunyan greets you upon your arrival in Bangor.
Continue south, through Maine’s capital, Augusta, to Kittery Point and Fort Foster for views of the Whaleback Lighthouse. Resume your journey as this evening ends in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
The next day takes you to Cape Cod, Massachusetts,
to explore its picturesque villages, rolling dunes and sea cliffs. You also have the option of visiting Martha’s Vineyard and one of the many of the Cape’s lighthouses such as the Sandy Neck Lighthouse or the Bass River Lighthouse.
And, as all good things do, this journey comes to an end as you arrive back in Boston with plenty of memories.
