For the more adventurous, you could go river tubing at Xel-Ha Park or zip line at Xplor Park. Or, for the most adventurous, put on a wetsuit and a lighted helmet and
head into the Rio Secreto to explore
the caves and waterways of this
subterranean wonder.
But if exploring without getting wet is more your speed, then the Mexican Folk Art Museum might be more your speed. It is dedicated to traditional Mexican artwork, which typically uses vibrant colors, from various regions of the country. The museum, part of Xcaret Park, has an extensive collection of Dia de Los Muertos dolls.
Just south of the Hotel Zone
you will find the Museo Maya de Cancun, which also includes the San Miguelito archaeological site. This museum focuses on the history of the Yucatan Peninsula and the archaeological site features the remains of a village.
Direct flights to Cancun, Mexico, from Ohio are available and can take about five hours. Your AAA Travel Agent also can book a cruise that visits Cancun if you just want a taste.
Either way, you should be able to find something to do.
