If you’re a mature adult, life insurance can help make sure your grandchildren have life insurance added to the financial protection they need in their own lives.
It might also be time to start thinking seriously about an inheritance strategy for when you are no longer around – do you want funds to go directly to your children, your grandchildren or perhaps a favorite charity? Life insurance can help make sure these proceeds go exactly where you’d like them to and provide you with added peace of mind.
Simply put, life insurance can help prepare you and your loved ones for a lifetime of financial priorities.
AAA Life and its agents do not provide legal, financial, or tax advice. Therefore, you may wish to consult independent professional advice before the purchase of these products.
Each issue, we’ll break down
an insurance topic – and what
it means for you – with answers from Ed Conley, CPIA and Director of Insurance Sales and Financial Services at AAA. Have a question for Ed? Drop us a line at AAA.com/AskEd.
I recently started a small business from my home. Do I need to make changes to my insurance policy?
The simple answer is yes. What kind and how much all depends on the type of business you’re running. Many times for
simple, small ventures, coverage can be added
to your existing home insurance policy. More significant operations where you’re working directly with the public, storing or transporting goods, or providing a professional service will all likely require an additional business owner’s policy. Not only
can insurance help legitimize your business for marketing purposes, but it will also provide protection for you and your clients that your home insurance will not. When you talk with your agent, be specific about the work you’re doing and don’t leave out any details. Agents need the full picture to ensure that you’re adequately covered.
After my car crash, a friend told me I should ask my insurance company about replacing my child’s car seat.
Is that something they do?
Yes, most of the time. If you had a car seat in your car at the time of a crash, even if your child was not in it, the
insurance company will pay to replace the seat. It will vary from company to company and depend on the severity of the crash, but it’s an excellent question to ask. For more information on when to replace a car seat, or how to properly install a car seat (including free, hands-on training from one of our certified technicians) visit AAA.com/TrafficSafety or contact Traffic Safety Program Manager
