The centerpiece exhibition in celebration of the museum’s 85th anniversary, “Dancing in the Light: Masterworks from the Age of American Impressionism” features paintings and works on paper assembled from private collections, museum collections and CMA’s collection to tell the story of the movement of American Impressionism from its beginnings in France to the shores of America – and why it is still relevant and approachable today as one of the finest artistic periods. Several works by major artists held in private collections and rarely
seen in public will be featured in the exhibition.

“Making Your Mark” features nine artists living and working in Northeast Ohio. Featured artists include Amber N. Ford, Taryn McMahon, Michaelle Marschall, Andrea Myers, Micah Kraus, Omid Shekari, Erykah Townsend (E.T.), Rebekah Wilhelm and Christine Zuercher. These richly hewn artworks are contextualized by the artists’ own words, glimpses into their studios and tools of their craft. When digital consumes so much of our time, experiencing authentic works takes on greater importance.

The 17th Annual Bryn Du Art Show, held at the historic Bryn Du Mansion, is a national, juried exhibition that will include a large variety of amazing 2D and 3D visual artworks for viewing and sale. To mark the acquisition of “Flat Torus 4” by California- based artist Phillip K. Smith III, a new exhibition at the Toledo Museum of Art explores the theme of light from a wide range of perspectives. “Luminous Visions: Phillip K. Smith III and Light Across the Collection” considers Smith’s work alongside objects from TMA’s collection that span time, culture and media.

among deltiologists {postcard collectors}), the postcards from Vermilion’s Postcard Project are finally available.
The cards are available for individual sale at $3 each or a pack of the complete series is $25 (plus tax). The Postcard Project depicts scenes of Vermilion history such as the original Ritter Library and views of Liberty Avenue looking east and west 100 years ago. There are also postcards of the Crystal Beach Dance Hall and
a delightful postcard of The Bug, a popular ride at Vermilion’s Crystal Beach Amusement Park.
